From Bob Ferver of Fresno, CA (27 Feb, 2000):

Today we saw the movie "Return With Honor", which is a limited release full length documentary film about the Vietnam POW's, now playing in theaters in selected cities, including Fresno, CA. Some old Navy and Lemoore friends are prominently featured, among them Mike McGrath, John McCain, Dick Stratton, Jerry Denton, and of course, Jim Stockdale.

This is an extremely well-made movie by some of the best talent in Hollywood, and is sponsored by Tom Hanks. It includes never before seen NVN footage of airstrikes, shootdowns, and the prisoners themselves. If you haven't heard about it, see if it's playing somewhere near you, and don't miss it.

We are fortunate to have it here, I think due to the proximity to NAS Lemoore, as well as the close connection with Mike and Marlene McGrath, who lived in Fresno for many years. This flick ought to be mandatory viewing in high school US history classes nationwide. It will make you proud that you served your country!

Bob Ferver is a retired naval aviator and Vietnam Vet, VA-97, and former CO of VFA-192 (USS Midway).

Editor's note: The film has been on limited release for six months. Your best bet is to check the website where it is also available for purchase on video:
