SHOWDOWN
Randi caught sight of a single dark shape and broke the radar lock to let the Hornet's hot radar mode search for the second aircraft.Scanning the area, she lost sight of the smoke rising from a crash site on a distant ridgeline.
"Hawk three-six is engaging the southern bandit. Wreckage bears one-eight-five for six from my position."
The controller replied, "Your bandit bears one-seven-five, four miles. And we've lost contact on both obos."

Randi adopted an old TOPGUN trick to locate the surviving Lobo. Using the nose of the MiG as a pointer, she scanned the
ground until she found the shadow of the aircraft he was chasing. It had to be Dizzy trying to escape.
The MiG was closing and would soon be in range. Randi had to take him out, but the set-up was terrible. She needed more look-down, but there wasn't time. With no choice, she took a lock and launched a Sparrow...
